Reiki Certifications in Gig Harbor

At our Gig Harbor Light Center, we certify students to become Reiki practitioners under the Jikiden method of Reiki.

In our Reiki classes, you will:

• Learn the history of Reiki healing and Usui Sensei's and Chiyoko Yamaguchi's background
• Be given three permanent Level 1 energy Reiju (similar to attunements)
• Be trained in the Reiki hand positions
• Learn to perceive the flow of Reiki
• Study the concept of Boysen to find, detect, and release blocked energy in the body and receive the first Reiki symbol
• Study the 5 Reiki principles of Gokai to keep the mind and body healthy
• Receive training in the Kekko Technique (Reiki massage) to stimulate circulation, metabolism, and to assist the lymph system
• Learn to give a complete Reiki treatment to yourself and others
• Participate in a Reiki group practice session
• Learn how to practice Reiki at home
• Receive a certificate in Japanese from the Jikiden Reiki Institute

Jikiden Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) is the foundation for all the levels of Reiki

The Shoden Level benefits the body and the healing of physical issues.

Our class is a combination of lecture, discussion, and practice on yourself and other students. You will learn how to give self-treatment as well as how to give Reiki to others. In this class, you will give and receive at least one complete Reiki treatment using all the hand positions.

While you will have plenty of practice time during your certification class, you will also need to set aside time to practice giving Reiki treatments to yourself, your family, or your friends after your class is finished. By doing this, you'll gain confidence and experience in using the Reiki energy.

In our Jikiden Reiki Level 1 class, you will receive:

• A Reiki manual
• Information about the history of Reiki healing and learn about Usui Sensei’s and Chiyoko Yamaguchi’s background
• Three permanent Level 1 energy Reiju (similar to attunements)
• Training in the Reiki hand positions
• Coaching to perceive the flow of Reiki
• Instruction in the concept of Byosen to detect and release blocked energy in the body
• The first Reiki symbol for healing
• Learning and understanding in the 5 Reiki principles of Gokai to keep the mind and body healthy
• Instruction in the Kekko Technique (Reiki massage) to stimulate circulation, metabolism, and to assist the lymph system
• Coaching to give a complete Reiki treatment to yourself and others
• Participation in a Reiki group practice session
• A Jikden Reiki Seminar Attendance Record (Passport)
• Study in how to practice Reiki at home
• A Level 1 (Shoden Level) certificate in Japanese from the Jikiden Reiki Institute

Jikiden Reiki Level 2 (Okuden)

• Receives two additional Reiju in a one day seminar
• Hears, learns and repeats the Gokai - the five Reiki Principles for Health and Happiness (in Japanese)
• Does Reiki Mawashi (a method used to feel the Reiki energy flowing and to give feedback to others in the seminar)
• Does Reiki Okuri (another method used to feel the Reiki energy flowing)
• Reviews the Kokai Denju from the notes of founder Mikao Usui (from the Jikiden Reiki manual)
• Learns the second Jikiden Reiki Shirushi or symbol and uses and practices it for the treatment of mental or emotional issues
• Learns the Jikiden Reiki method of Enkaku, which is "Distance" healing
• Learns the Jikiden Reiki "Distance" Jumon (or mantra) and practices healing in the class
• Reviews the elements of both Shoden and Okuden
• Receives a certificate from his/her Teacher in either English or his/her own language indicating completion of Okuden
• Gets his/her Jikiden Reiki Seminar Attendance Record (Passport) stamped by the Teacher
• Student also receives a certificate in Japanese from the Jikiden Reiki Instute (Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai)

How Does Reiki Heal?

Reiki heals by eliminating toxins in the body's fluid systems. It also heals by raising the vibrational level of the energy field in and around a person's physical body. This energy field is where blockages, negative thoughts and feelings are held. When Reiki flows through this energy field, the negative energy becomes positively charged and blockages are cleared. And, once the energy field has been positively charged, the person's life force can flow through again, healthy and uninterrupted.

During the Jikiden Reiki Level 1 course, students will receive three Reiju, which are similar to "attunements" in order to create an open energy channel. Once this channel is open, the Reiki/Universal/Life Energy can flow through it and out of the hands of the Reiki practitioner while treatment is being given. After you have been attuned to Reiki, you can never lose it!

Reiki energy is always helpful. Because it is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do harm. Reiki always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to provide the level of healing that is appropriate for them. And, because the practitioner is a "one way" for the Reiki to flow through, the Reiki practitioner's own energies are never depleted.

In addition, the Reiki practitioner does not need to worry that they are taking on the karma of the client because they do not make the decision about what to work on or what to heal. In fact, the Reiki consciousness considers both the practitioner and client to be in need of healing, so both receive treatment. Because of this, giving a treatment always increases one's energy and leaves one surrounded with loving feelings of well-being.
